Seven Writers. Seven Voices. Seven Stories.

I think this is going…I know this is going to be #Epic.

Sɪɴ ɪs ᴋɴᴏᴡɪɴɢ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪs ᴡʀᴏɴɢ…ᴀɴᴅ sᴛɪʟʟ ᴅᴏɪɴɢ ɪᴛ.

Here we are.

Stephen Penner controlling Wrath and Illustrations

A.T. Russell dominating Greed

Vickie Adair mastering Pride

Dawn Kirby wrapping her hands around Lust

Mindjuggler Phlegyas consuming Gluttony

Tymothy Longoria prevailing over Envy

Michelle Picarella, taking on Sloth.

The above was written by Michelle Picarella. What does all this mean? It means an epic collaboration. It means Seven different Writers. Seven different voices. Seven minds. From all around doing what we love to do.

Okay so what’s the big announcement? you ask with a sneer. THIS: We, The Seven will be unleashing our compendium, tentatively titled The Seven Deadly Sins, the brain-child of Michelle.  I am very excited to be a part of this. We all “met” on Twitter. SEE? It’s still proving to be a terrific place for networking and building relationships and networks. I digress and return to The Seven.

Not only are we from different walks of life, as I mentioned we have our own voice. By voice I mean of course our writing voice. We write in and for different genres. Some strictly one, others have branched out. This is perhaps the best part of all this. We don’t write similar. I can guarantee that. When I was asked by Michelle I was ecstatic. What an opportunity.

In The Book of Proverbs there is noted, “six things the Lord hateth, and the seventh His soul detesteth.”

The Writers and their chosen sin.

Stephen Penner

Author and illustrator of children’s chapter book series PROFESSOR BARRISTER’S DINOSAUR MYSTERIES is also going to be the artist on this project.

Ira. Hands that shed innocent blood. Anger, uncontrolled, leads to hate and destruction. Wrath. “…and when I finally got my hands on the man that hurt my brother…I…couldn’t stop squeezing his throat. I felt his…neck snap…and oh…it felt good.”

noun-strong, stern, or fierce anger; deeply resentful indignation; ire.

A.T. Russel

Chicago’s own A.T. ‘s book Sacred Puppies will be published by

The sin of excess. Of Avarice. Want. Want. Want. Give me more. Greed is without a doubt as dangerous if not more so than wrath. “I have enough…but I want more, ” said the King as he sat on his throne of gold and jewels.

noun-excessive or rapacious desire, especially for wealth or possessions.

Vickie Adair

Texas born. Imagination plus humor makes nonsense; I like nonsense. It wakes up the brain cells

The original sin.

Pride goeth before destruction. “With a proud look in his eye.”

-noun-a high or inordinate opinion of one’s own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.
Pride is what caused Lucifer…to fall.
The Secrets Writer.  A future best-seller. She is how I met all but Michelle. A great Friend.

Don’t be mistaken. One can lust for more than just another. He lusted after his master’s power…in time he would be the one in control, he thought.
intense sexual desire or appetite.
uncontrolled or illicit sexual desire or appetite; lecherousness.
a passionate or overmastering desire or craving (usually followed by for ): a lust for power.
The name says it all. From London by way of Greece he will surely have you pondering the deeper meanings…of anything.

Thomas Aquinas compiled six ways to commit gluttony:
  • Praepropere – eating too soon.
  • Laute – eating too expensively.
  • Nimis – eating too much.
  • Ardenter – eating too eagerly (burningly).
  • Studiose – eating too daintily (keenly).
  • Forente – eating wildly (boringly).
Whichever way it’s commited, Phlegyas will make you think twice.
Author of Livian.
Creator of the Seven.

Noun-habitual disinclination to exertion; indolence; laziness.

To not do anything…is sloth.  Apathy for any wrong is worse than those who do wrong.

Me. Tymothy Longoria. Writer of The Stories.

Many men have lost all they had in vain attempts to aqcuire what others were given. Talents, wealth, the good-life.
If not only want what you have…but I want you to suffer.
“Envy is sorrow for another’s good.”–Thomas Aquinas
noun-a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another’s advantages, success, possessions, etc.

Eᴠᴇʀ ʜᴇᴀʀᴅ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ sᴀʏɪɴɢ “ʜᴇ ᴛᴜʀɴᴇᴅ ɢʀᴇᴇɴ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴇɴᴠʏ…? Wᴇʟʟ, ɪɴ ᴛʜɪs ᴛᴀʟᴇ ɪᴛ ᴛᴀᴋᴇs ᴏɴ ᴀ ᴡʜᴏʟᴇ ɴᴇᴡ ᴍᴇᴀɴɪɴɢ.

There you have it. This is only the beginning. These talented Writers and myself,  as A.T. says, all bleed black and white…and it will spill onto the pages of the collection-
The Seven Deadly Sins.
Fables were warnings. This is no exception.

Tymothy Longoria has been described as a writer with a flair for the dramatic (whether this is true still remains to be seen).
